Demonstrating our vision about patient monitoring in a real world scenario

In a cooperation with the AICHER AMBULANZ UNION during the Oktoberfest 2023 in Munich, cosinuss° established a continuous patient monitoring system across all stretchers, the triage area as well as all stationary areas. This way, patients were monitored completely continuously on their pathway through the Oktoberfest’s healthcare services: From first aid, transport on the stretchers, triage in the ward to inpatient monitoring of patients as well as telemedical services.

The vital signs were captured by the c-med° alpha and displayed with the cosinuss° Health system on the paramedic’s mobile phones as long as they were on their way, switching to the central monitor in the ward automatically as soon as they approached with the patients on the stretchers. Patient monitoring was ongoing in the different stationary areas as long as the patient was finally released. Thanks to the cosinuss° patient monitoring system, seamless transitions between the individual steps on the patient pathway were thus possible.

The experience gained during the stress test at Oktoberfest shows that continuous monitoring greatly helps to optimize valuable resources and also helps to even more increase the quality of care for every patient. It is a model that should be copied by healthcare systems around the world.

Accompanying study of the INM

The use of the patient monitoring technology provided by cosinuss° during the Oktoberfest was accompanied by a study conducted by the Institute for Emergency Medicine and Medical Management (INM) at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. Results of that study are still being evaluated and will be published soon.
