cosinuss° equips the DAK mountain rescue team at the 70th Kandahar race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the innovative mobile patient monitoring system
Munich/Garmisch-Partenkirchen, 22.01.2024 – cosinuss° is providing the latest cutting-edge technology for the 70th Kandahar Race in Garmisch-Partenkirchen to ensure continuous and mobile patient monitoring of the participating athletes if necessary. The technology is provided free of charge by cosinuss°.
Mobile and continuous patient monitoring
The DAK-Bergwacht will be able to use the c-med° alpha in-ear sensor and the Health° App during all the men’s and women’s race days, if necessary, to continuously monitor the athletes’ vital signs on the move.
The c-med° alpha is a small, 6.5 g wearable in-ear sensor that continuously measures body temperature, oxygen saturation, perfusion and pulse rate. The recorded vital parameters and quality indicators are clearly displayed in the cosinuss° Health App. Thanks to its location, constant blood flow and central positioning, the auditory canal offers decisive advantages over other measurement locations for optical measurements. In addition, the proximity to the brain can be relevant for interpreting the measured values.
Seamless transitions along the treatment pathway
In recent years, the in-ear sensors have been used successfully in various applications and studies. For example, during the Oktoberfest 2023 in Munich, a continuous patient monitoring system was established across all stretchers, the triage area and all inpatient areas. In this way, patients were seamlessly monitored on their way through the health services at the Oktoberfest: from first aid, transport on the stretchers, triage on the ward to inpatient monitoring of patients and telemedicine services. This enabled seamless transitions between the individual steps of the treatment pathway.
