AI enabled hEalthcare Services during Cross-bOrdeR medical emergencies and regular patienT services
We are glad that cosinuss° is an integral part of the ESCORT project, which is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program. This pioneering project underlines the importance and promotes the integration of new technologies both in big medical emergencies, such as natural disasters or mass casualties, and in the everyday care of patients. A total of twelve leading clinical experts, scientists as well as medical device and technology companies from the European Union and associated member states are working together to achieve the objectives.
Strengthening the healthcare system
The main objective of ESCORT is to realize multiple, innovative solutions in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), medical wearables, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to strengthen the healthcare system in Europe across borders and increase the resilience of the overall system. The advances developed should help to substantially improve medical care for patients and significantly increase the resilience of the European healthcare system and care services. Ultimately, patients should be able to rely on unrestricted access to their regular healthcare services and receive the best possible care in the event of cross-border emergencies.
To achieve these goals, the ESCORT consortium has identified three scenarios that cover patient care in the pre- and post-hospital settings as well as in emergency medicine. All scenarios will be validated in six participating countries.
cosinuss° mobile patient monitoring: new possibilities in emergency management and care
cosinuss° is making a significant contribution to the project by providing its many years of technological expertise and hardware and software products. The mobile patient monitoring technology from cosinuss° plays a decisive role in the innovative solutions planned for the project.
One example of this is the need for mobile and continuous patient monitoring of many injured people at the same time as part of emergency medical assistance in mass casualty incidents. The cosinuss° monitoring solution not only enables quick and easy access to the relevant vital parameters of each patient but also makes it possible to relocate patients any time during monitoring and thus supports triage. It displays all patient data on a central screen and enables medical staff to continuously monitor all patients and react to changes in health conditions fast. These and other aspects of the cosinuss° monitoring technology are the reason why it was selected and presented by the predecessor project NO-FEAR, also financed in the framework of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 / Horizon Europe program, as one of the most helpful innovations and was now included in the ESCORT project.
More about ESCORT
The ESCORT project (AI enabled hEalthcare Services during Cross-bOrdeR medical emergencies and regular patienT services) pools the experience of leading healthcare providers from five European and one associated member state that specialize in emergency medicine or provide regular health and care services.
The project aims to integrate innovative solutions that have been validated within the previous NO-FEAR project. ESCORT will also develop a methodology to train health and care professionals in the use of new medical technologies.
