To ensure best emergency care by air, several factors are critical. These include the available resources, the medical and rescue service expertise, and the time to final care of the injured person. The focus is on how quickly and with what level of quality a medical emergency or crisis can be resolved. This year’s AirMed 2022 World Congress will address this issue. Under the motto “United in quality care by air”, the congress invites stakeholders in medical air transport to Salzburg, Austria, from June 28 to 30, 2022.

We are very pleased that PD Dr. Roman Schniepp, neurologist, emergency physician and intensivist at the LMU Munich Hospital, will present our sensor technology and its possible applications in air rescue at the AirMed 2022 World Congress.

Best possible care in air rescue

AirMed 2022 will map the entire aeromedical care chain. High-quality and standardized medical procedures, especially in prehospital emergency medicine, can create structures that support valuable time savings and early therapy decisions – both key factors and focal points of this year’s AirMed 2022. To this end, the congress will offer an exchange for medical science as well as technology companies. AirMed 2022 provides a platform for HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) and air rescue service providers to enable the most integrative networking of air rescue and medical procedures.

Sensor-based emergency medicine

PD Dr. Roman Schniepp will present the cosinuss° in-ear sensors as a mobile solution for monitoring severely injured patients in prehospital emergency medicine. In the context of joint research projects (MoReTech: Mountain Rescue Technology Study), PD Dr. Schniepp was able to deliver groundbreaking results with cosinuss° in the monitoring of patients during alpine rescue or air rescue scenarios.

A presentation with discussion of the results will take place at AirMed 2022 on June 30, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:30 am.
