We are happy to announce our collaboration with the Jozef Stefan Institute and Prof. Igor Mekjavic and his team in Ljubljana, Slovenia for a joint research about the human oxygen saturation for different applications.

The ESA (European Space Agency) study called Concordia will address following topics:

  • Understanding spaceflight-induced stresses and related mechanisms and processes as well as countermeasures for psychological, neurosensory, neuroendocrine and stress-sensitive systems of the human body.
  • Enhancing and optimizing the human factor contribution to space exploration missions’ operations
  • Enabling future human long-duration spaceflight missions.

The cosinuss° developed and patented earconnect technology will be part of these studies in the Concordia Antarctic Research Station.

A further topic of the collaboration with the IJS will be several studies at the hypoxic facility of the Olympic Sport Centre Planica.

The Jožef Stefan Institute is the leading Slovenian research organisation. It is responsible for a broad spectrum of basic and applied research in the fields of natural sciences and technology. The staff of around 960 specialize in research in physics, chemistry and biochemistry, electronics and information science, nuclear technology, energy utilization and environmental science.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is Europe’s gateway to space. Its mission is to shape the development of Europe’s space capability and ensure that investment in space continues to deliver benefits to the citizens of Europe and the world.
